Sorbet is a tasty frozen dessert made with fruit and juice, and sometimes even alcohol.
This watermelon sorbet recipe is healthy and nonalcoholic.
Any fruit can be used to make sorbet with a complementary juice added to it; however, we chose watermelon for this recipe, because it is a favorite summer fruit.
So get out the bowls and spoons, and enjoy this cool recipe on a hot summer day.
Prep/Total 20-25 min + chill time
Ingredients:
1/2 medium to large seedless watermelon, sliced lengthwise
6 oz. can frozen pink lemonade concentrates, thawed & undiluted
15 1/4 oz. can crushed pineapple, undrained
1/2 cup sugar
Makes 8 - 10 servings
For a larger crowd, use whole watermelon and double the rest of the ingredients.
Directions:
Scoop out watermelon flesh, place in blender or food processor and process until smooth. Pour puree' through a wire mesh strainer into a bowl; discard any pulp or seeds.
Measure 8 cups of juice; add lemonade concentrate, pineapple and sugar, stirring until sugar dissolves.
Pour mixture into a 9x13-inch pan, cover and freeze until firm. Break frozen mixture into chunks. Place half the mixture in blender or food processor; process until smooth. Repeat with remaining frozen mixture. Serve immediately!
