Whip up one of these slush recipes and sip your way to summer refreshment.
These tasty fruit freezes are perfect for a summer party or an afternoon snack.
Ingredients:
3 cups cubed watermelon (seeds removed)
1 cup frozen strawberries
2 scoops lemon sorbet
1/4 cup pineapple juice, chilled
2 Tbsp. lime juice
Makes 8 servings
Directions:
In a blender, combine watermelon, strawberries, sorbet, pineapple juice and lime juice. Blend until mixture is smooth. Pour into glasses.
Ingredients:
4 cups ripe cantaloupe, cubed
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
2 Tbsp. sugar or honey
Makes 4 cups
Directions:
Spread cantaloupe in a single layer on a wax-paper-lined baking sheet(s). Freeze for 45 min. or until three-quarters frozen (do not freeze rock-hard).
In a blender, place orange juice, yogurt and honey or sugar. Top with cantaloupe; whirl until smooth and slushy. Serve in chilled glasses.
