Beef Burger Recipe

Prep 10 min. Cook 10 min.

Ingredients:

3 lb. ground chunk or ground

1 small onion, chopped

1 celery stalk, finely chopped

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

8 hamburger buns

Salt and pepper

Makes 8 servings

Healthy substitutes: Make with lean ground meat, wheat buns or omit the buns altogether.

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, celery and parsley; season with salt and pepper. Stir just to blend with spoon or your hands; do not overwork mixture. Form into 8 patties. Chill until ready to use. Prepare a charcoal fire or set a gas grill to medium-high heat. Cook burgers, turning once, 8 min. for medium-rare. Serve on warm toasted buns.

Turkey Burger Recipe

Prep 10 min. Cook 10 min.

Ingredients:

3 lb. ground turkey

1 red bell pepper, seeded and finely chopped

1 tsp. dried thyme

3 scallions, white part only, chopped

3 Tbsp. olive oil

8 hamburger buns

Salt and pepper

Makes 8 servings

Healthy substitutes: Make with lean ground turkey, extra virgin olive oil and wheat buns.

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine turkey, salt and pepper. Add bell pepper, thyme, scallions and oil and mix well. Form into 8 patties. Chill until ready to use. Prepare a charcoal fire or set a gas grill to medium-high. Cook burgers, turning once, until no longer pink in center, about 5 min. per side. Serve on warm toasted buns.
